Leave Beijing for a guided overnight adventure on a wild, quiet section of the Great Wall, with sunset hiking, a farmhouse dinner and sunrise from the wall.
Camp the Wall is a two-day overnight escape built around a remote section of the Great Wall outside Beijing. The group leaves the city at 13:00 on the departure day, hikes through the late afternoon light and sleeps in tents beneath the open sky. Seasonal note: From November to April, temperatures are too cold for camping on the Great Wall. During these months, the overnight stay moves to a farmhouse at the foot of the Great Wall. Day 1 13:00 - Meet at Dongsi Subway Station Exit B on Line 5. Please arrive 10 minutes early. The group departs together by private bus. 15:30-16:40 - Arrive at a local farm village near the wall and begin the hike. 17:00-18:30 - Follow your leader along the wall and watch the sunset from the watchtowers. 19:00 - Return to the farmhouse for a shared round-table dinner. 21:00 - From May to October, continue to the overnight area and pitch camp. From November to April, stay overnight at the farmhouse at the foot of the Great Wall. Day 2 04:30 - Wake for sunrise over the Great Wall. 05:30 - Have a snack and set out for a final morning walk before the day visitors arrive. 06:00 - Pack up camp or check out of the farmhouse and descend to the farm village. 06:30 - Board the return transport to Beijing. 08:30 - Arrive back in central Beijing for a local breakfast and the end of the trip. The itinerary is weather and season dependent. The operator may adjust timings, the walking route or the overnight location when conditions require. This is a moderate-intensity outdoor experience. Guests must be comfortable walking on uneven stone paths and carrying their own overnight supplies where required.
